PAUL ADAMS AND ELIZABETH GEYER
Working in multiple genres, Paul’s 13 critically acclaimed albums have over 128 million streams on Pandora and can be heard on Spotify, Sirius Radio The Spa, Music Choice, Amazon Radio, Echoes, Apple Radio, Tidal and other worldwide platforms. Having worked in mental health for 35 years, Paul also utilizes his music in various modalities such as meditation, relaxation, sleep, yoga and addiction.
With a background in Ethnomusicology, Paul began building stringed musical instruments. He has built instruments for well-known musicians including Daryl Hall and members of Stevie Wonder’s band.
Paul is also a writer, poet, and photographer, and developed an interest in playing a vast array of exotic instruments. When asked about his musical diversity, he likens himself to a painter. “I’ve always loved the different musical genres. Just as a painter doesn’t want to be stuck in oils, or acrylic, I don’t want to be restricted to one theme.”
In May of 2016 his album, “Imaginings,” (a collaboration between him and Australian Elizabeth Geyer), won “Contemporary Instrumental Album of the Year” at the Zone Music Awards in New Orleans. His follow up album “Deeper Imaginings” with Elizabeth Geyer, was released to rave reviews and nominated New Age Album of the Year by the Independent Music Awards as well as Meditation Album of the Year by the Zone Music Reporter.
In 2022 using the pseudonym PD Adams, he released a lyric oriented album called “This Curious Wonder” to rave reviews in the Americana genre.
Elizabeth began singing professionally in stage productions Werther at age 8 (The State Opera of SA) then Evita (Adelaide Festival Theatre) at age 9. She began piano lessons at age 6, and in seventh grade she auditioned for a term of free trumpet lessons at school, horn included, which came about because the school band was short of trumpet players. At 14 her trumpet teacher encouraged her to try out for a local rock band that performed at local school dances in which she played keyboard, trumpet and sang. The band opened the door to making music purely for fun for the first time.
Three years into her music degree, taking Hal Hall’s jazz improvisation class one day opened a door to the world of jazz. Again, the freedom to create without limits and break free from the need for perfect accuracy was to shape her next step forward. Elizabeth spent hours a day, looping the music of Freddie Hubbard, Carmen McRae, Pat Metheny to mention a few. Switching from classical to jazz halfway through the degree, Elizabeth graduated in 1993, and had begun supporting herself as a freelance jazz trumpet player and pianist/ singer.
Between the years of 1997 and 2013 Elizabeth also held various long term residencies performing at Sydney’s Star City Casino, at exhibition openings for the Friends Of The Art Gallery of New South Wales including the Archibald Prize. She also performed regularly as a pianist/vocalist at the Ritz Carlton, Marriott Hotels, Sheraton Wentworth, Park Hyatt, Westin and Hotel Intercontinental. She also regularly song wrote with Nashville based country artist and former CMAA Female Artist Of The Year Dianna Corcoran and Jim Moginie, founding member of Midnight Oil with whom she has also recorded. Elizabeth performed regularly with renowned jazz guitarist George Golla at the Jamie Oliver owned restaurant Chop House until 2014.
In 2016, Elizabeth recorded her fourth solo album, “The Bridge,” award-winning multi instrumentalist Paul Adams, with whom she also collaborated for album, “Imaginings,” which won the Zone Music Award in 2015 for Best Contemporary Instrumental Album and debuted at No 1 on the iTunes New Age Chart.
Following the success of “Imaginings,” Elizabeth and Paul collaborated once again to record “Deeper Imaginings” which was released in November 2019.
Paul and Elizabeth’s single, “Journey of Dreams” was recently released as a prelude to their upcoming album of the same name to be release in the spring of 2024.
