Ryan Michael Richards is an acoustic guitarist, composer, and recording artist born in Philadelphia and currently residing in Florida. Ryan has had two albums produced by Windham Hill Records founder and Grammy®-award winner, Will Ackermann. Both albums received international critical acclaim. Ryan’s music has received radio airplay from numerous radio stations such as the SiriusXM Spa Channel, Music Choice: Soundscapes, One World Music Radio, New Age Notes Radio, and numerous FM and Internet stations worldwide.
Ryan’s new single release is “Coastline (The Solo Version).” The song was originally Included as a song on his album, “EXPERIENCES.” It was originally recorded as a song with instrumental mixes and he also at that time recorded a solo acoustic version as well. Ryan has decided to release this solo version now as a single.
The song was inspired by a visit to a beach called “The Cove,” located in Cape May, New Jersey. The Cove is a special, beautiful, and serene place. The cover artwork photo for the new single release of “Coastline,” is of a view of the Cove. The cover photo for the album, “EXPERIENCES,” is also of The Cove, but from a different viewpoint and time. And so it is with this enjoyable single. Here, we get a whole different viewpoint.
If you love acoustic guitar, you will love this as much as we do. Ryan plays beautifully and sensitively, and we have a lovely and engaging melody here that is instantly relaxing. Oceans and coastlines are special places, and here we have a song that captures the serenity of exactly what the cover photo conveys. Gentle waves roll softly onto the coastline, with subtle, pretty light completing the sense of tranquility.
Besides being an elegantly composed and played song, Ryan has left some very subtle, perfectly paced breathing spaces so that the piece feels as alive as the beautiful coastline as it moves gently in its eternal ebb and flow. This is definitely one for the playlist and one you may have on repeat. Just gorgeous.
