The Song Gardeners | Talking To Trees | Single Review

“Talking To Trees” by Talking To Trees 3000x3000 The Song Gardeners

Single Review by New Age CD and New Age Notes Radio Staff

Trees are special and different, as are songs from The Song Gardeners. The Song Gardeners, a “New Age pop” duo based in California, are at the forefront of the New Age Pop genre. They are well-known for their refreshing, well-crafted vocal songs with impressive harmonies and empowering messages. The band includes singer/songwriters and multi-instrumentalists Corrie Dunn and Mary Gospe.

Their new single release (January 19, 2024), “Talking to Trees” features Corrie Dunn on lead vocals and guitar. Along with Mary Gospe’s soulful harmonies, the song resonates deeply with the listener. James Butler provides synths and bass, and David Scheibner contributes guitars, synths, and percussion on the track.

Trees are special for many reasons, but mainly because of their vital role in maintaining ecological balance, supporting life, and offering a wide range of benefits to both the environment and human society.  Trees evoke a sense of affinity and well-being. Spending time in natural settings with trees has been scientifically proven to reduce stress and improve well-being.

The connection between people and trees is well-studied and multifaceted, encompassing physical, emotional, and cultural dimensions. The calming effect of trees is well documented and promotes a mindful connection along with a sense of deep peace. This bond between people and trees is deeply ingrained in human history and has continued throughout the eons to be a source of inspiration and comfort to many individuals.

The Song Gardeners compositions always include beautiful, thought-provoking lyrics. “Talking to Trees” doesn’t disappoint:

“Whispering wind through the leaves as they sing
Branches keep time with the thoughts on my mind
The forest plays a divine melody
As we tune in, tune out our hopes and dreams. . .”

The vibe of the song from the very first notes and throughout, is relaxed, sweet, and mellow, and reminds us to slow down, be mindfully present to the moment, get grounded, and feel the universal energy that flows through all. One thing The Song Gardeners do best is their amazing vocal harmonies. The acoustic guitars and soft synths also add an amazing quality to this enjoyable track. This is beautiful in every way.
