Album Review by Dyan Garris for Zone Music Reporter (ZMR), New Age CD, and “Spirit Seeker Magazine

“Extraordinarily beautiful on every level, this tribute to 7 stars in the Pleiades cluster, speaks to us in languages that may seem foreign to the ears, but not to the soul.” – Dyan Garris

There has always been a long-held fascination with the star grouping known as Pleiades. Pleiades contains some 3,000 stars and lies about 444 light-years from Earth. (Yes, “444.” For those who are into it, 444 is an angel number. For those who are not, look it up for some interesting information).  In any event, “Pleiades: Celestial Musings on the Seven Sisters” consists of 7 tracks, each a special tribute to a particular star in that cluster.  The album is about 52 minutes, and here, the Sedona based Christel sings in “tongues,” with languages that may be foreign to the ears but not to the soul. Channeled, one might say, although she doesn’t present it as such as far as I know.

Now, do you meditate? If you do, you’re going to love this. If you don’t, you’re going to love this. Not only is this a tribute to the “7 sisters,” but while listening – or meditating – one can feel an opening and clearing of the 7 chakras as well. I do not know if that was an intention here, but that is a definite and palatable effect.

The album opens with the relaxing and ethereal, “Taygete.” This sets the tone for all that comes next. As I said, we don’t know the words to any of this in English, but it speaks deeply to the soul on so many other levels. The specialness of this album grabs you right from the start. It is all deeply peaceful and comforting to the spirit. Following is the lovely, “Maia.” Harp sounds enhance the beautiful vocal. “Asterope” is flowing, with an exotic feel, and crosses all cultural and ALL fences of any sort and speaks directly to the collective soul. It’s got an ancient feel, for sure. This is very beautiful and a favorite, but as you might want to seriously consider getting the entire album and using it not only for deep relaxation, but direct chakra balance or clearing practice. It’s supremely effective in this area.

“Merope” is deeply, deeply relaxing, and speaks a universal language of love. Just beautiful. “Celaeno” is tranquil and serene with Christel’s sweet, ethereal voice calming the spirit and soothing the soul. This is another favorite. “Alcyone” has a kind of “tribal” feel. It seems like a “call” of some sort. It’s gorgeous. Just amazing.  The album closes out with “Electra.” This is 10:44 minutes of tranquility of the highest order.  This is so beautiful.

There is absolutely no way to stay in any kind of stress mode listening to this album.  I recommend getting the whole album and meditating with it for an amazing, balancing, calming, experience. Hauntingly beautiful and very special all through.
